THE HISTORY OF
WELLINGTON SQUARE
Wellington Square's groundbreaking was held in September 1976. The retail center was built by a group in Dallas who modeled the design on the Old Town Shopping Center in Dallas. The project cost an estimated $7.5 million to complete. Wellington Square has been home to numerous Amarillo businesses over the years and is still a thriving hub of activity today.
